Watch: Middle Schoolers Cook Up Life Skills in CTE Summer Discovery Program

MMSD’s Career and Technical Education Programs are have returned this summer! Through these week-long summer programs, middle school students have the opportunity to learn valuable life and career skills in MMSD high schools.

Last week, students practiced their cooking skills with the Culinary Arts CTE program at Vel Phillips Memorial High School, collaborating with classmates to cook recipes from scratch and taking field trips to farmer’s markets to source fresh ingredients.

Through camps like these, students are able to stay engaged and learning over the summer, while also honing their skills in areas that will help them in high school and beyond.
