Speach bubbles indicating opportunity for input

You are invited to attend and participate in an in-person input session, sharing your ideas about how MMSD can meet the three goals outlined in the Strategic Framework. We want to hear your perspectives about MMSD’s strategic plan, learn about your experiences within MMSD, and better understand your needs and concerns. Four input sessions have been scheduled across Madison; please attend the date/location most convenient to you. Refreshments and childcare will be provided; middle and high school students are invited to participate in the input sessions.

Mr. Luna, He strives to create a safe environment for all his students. He ensures he's easily approachable and encourages us to be honest and to come to him if we need to talk to someone.

Message on Uvalde Texas Shooting

It is with profound sadness we learn of yesterday’s horrific tragedy at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas. The deep heartbreak we feel today has become all too familiar. The disturbing frequency of these senseless acts of violence are incredibly difficult to process, with each tragedy contributing to cumulative trauma, especially when involving the loss of so many of our youngest and most precious.

Q: What are your post-graduation plans?

I will be attending MATC for two years and then transferring to UW-Madison for nursing that way I can use my PEOPLE scholarship!

Q: What advice do you have for incoming 9th grade students?

Enjoy yourself, have fun, but stay focused and resilient as you will face hardships and obstacles along the way. Never forget how much you can achieve if you apply yourself.

Dr. Jenkins on playground with students, families and staff

With only four weeks left in the 2021-22 school year, Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) Superintendent, Dr. Carlton D. Jenkins, reflected on his last two years during several speaking engagements over the past several days, including events held by the Madison Public Schools Foundation, Madison365, MMSD’s Breakfast with Champions, and the Association for Government Accountants.

This inaugural event took place the week of May 9-13, 2022 over four days at each comprehensive high school (Memorial, West, East, and La Follette). "What students are doing in co-curriculars is the basic fabric of making schools, school. We do our academics, and co-curricular are equally important,” reflected Superintendent Dr. Carlton Jenkins.

Kennedy Elementary school recognizes the crucial role our school bus drivers play in our overall success. The staff and students put together gift bags for each of them, including notes and cards from students, and delivered them to their drivers. Thank you, bus drivers and attendants!
